Dr. Manuel Gutiérrez Romero came from a family of doctors. His father was a professor at the UABC medical school for 25 years in the area of infectious disease. His mother is a M.D. in the area of family practice. The passion for medicine and patient care runs in the family, and because of this Dr. Gutierrez enrolled himself in medical school at the age of 18. At this time, he told himself – “Some day I will be a plastic and reconstructive surgeon”.

He completed 6 years and received his medical degree in Tijuana, Mexico. He then moved to Mexico city to continue with his general surgeon degree for 3 years in Centro medico “la Raza”, and then plastic surgery in “General Hospital” for 3 additional years. After he became a board certified plastic surgeon, he moved back to Tijuana, Mexico in May 1998. At that time he opened his practice and has been in the same location since.

Dr. Manuel Gutierrez is also a nature lover and an explorer. Dr. Gutierrez has climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro (largest mountain in Africa), explored temples of Ankor wat in Cambodia, tracked the gorillas in Uganda. He has also gone on animal safaris in Kenya , Tanzania, Botswana, South Africa and explored the amazons river in Brazil and Peru. Oh by the way, you can also add in water rafting in the Zambezi River Victoria Fall.

His current hobbies now are: Kite Surfing, Fishing, Diving and Tennis.
